Using USDT on BNB Smart Chain

The most common mistakes are using the wrong network, approving the wrong spender, or having no BNB for gas.

Confirm the chain before sending

USDT can exist on multiple networks. Check that the receiving wallet or application explicitly expects USDT on BNB Smart Chain. Sending through a different chain can make recovery difficult or impossible.

Keep a small amount of BNB for gas

Transactions on BNB Smart Chain require BNB to pay network gas even when the asset being transferred is USDT. A wallet holding only USDT may be unable to approve or send a transaction.

Understand approval then purchase

Many smart-contract purchase flows require an ERC-20/BEP-20 approval before the contract can move USDT. Check the spender address and approved amount. A separate purchase transaction may follow the approval.

Check the final transaction

After confirmation, use BscScan to verify status, destination and token transfer logs. A website success message should not replace the on-chain receipt.
