BNB Smart Chain Transaction Troubleshooting

1. Start with the transaction hash

Copy the transaction hash from your wallet and inspect it on BscScan. If a hash exists, the explorer is the best source for confirmation status, block number, sender, destination, value, gas used and failure messages. If no hash exists, the wallet may not have broadcast the transaction at all.

2. Understand pending, failed and dropped

• Pending: the transaction was broadcast but has not yet been included in a block.
• Failed: it was included but execution reverted or ran out of gas. Gas fees can still be consumed.
• Dropped or replaced: another transaction with the same nonce may have replaced it.

3. Check BNB for gas

BEP-20 token transfers and contract interactions require BNB for network fees. Holding USDT or another token does not pay BNB Smart Chain gas. Keep a small BNB balance and review the estimated fee before signing.

4. Approval is not the final action

Many token flows require an approval transaction before a purchase, swap or deposit. An approval grants a contract permission to spend a token up to a limit; it does not necessarily complete the intended purchase. Confirm whether the wallet is asking for an approval or the actual transaction.

5. Nonce and replacement issues

Transactions from one wallet are ordered by nonce. A low-fee pending transaction can block later transactions. Most wallets provide a speed-up or cancel option that submits a replacement with the same nonce and a higher fee. Avoid sending many repeated transactions without understanding which nonce is blocked.

6. RPC and wallet display problems

A wallet can temporarily show stale information if its RPC endpoint is delayed. Compare the wallet state with BscScan, then switch to another reputable BNB Smart Chain RPC endpoint if needed. Never enter a seed phrase into a website to fix an RPC problem.

7. Before retrying

• Verify the network is BNB Smart Chain.
• Verify the destination contract address.
• Check whether the previous transaction already succeeded.
• Check BNB gas balance.
• Read the wallet simulation or warning message.
• Do not blindly increase token approvals or repeat failed calls.
